APRIL 2006
COLONY DELAYED UNTIL JUNE!
Due to some personal circumstances beyond his control (like moving his entire operation to a new studio), penciler Dick Giordano has requested that we delay the launch of our exclusive web comic series, COLONY, until June of 2006. For those of you who are just coming aboard--here's a brief synopsis of the storyline: Wrongly
sentenced to 30 years of hard labor, Scott Landus is sent to—The COLONY. The
saga revolves around the character of Landus, whose station in life goes
from lowly convict to the leader of an entire planet, whose power will
shake the very foundations of the ruling Galactic Confederation. Hopefully, we'll have a sneak preview of the upcoming series for you next month--right here at BobLayton.com. Trust me--it'll be worth the wait.

Last month, Jill and I were guests of ZOOM SUIT publisher and writer John Taddeo and his charming wife Donna at Megacon in Orlando, Florida. Manned by John's capable staff, the booth ran as smooth as clockwork, as we entertained the troops attending the show. Needless
to say, we had a great time hooking-up with some old friends and new
acquaintances. And--it looks like ZOOM SUIT # 1 might be the hottest
Indy comic in America, judging by the fan and retailer reactions at the
show! |

Apologies to those of you who’ve been waiting with baited breath and worried beads for Part II of the Bob Layton Interview. I’ve been overwrought by a project for IDT Entertainment (“Give it to Cliff,” they said. “Cliff’s got nothing to do...”) and finalizing galleys on METHo.d., my new book with the nifty new STERANKO cover, and a series of pitches to a major comics publisher who just might maybe lets-cross-our-fingers hire your favorite columnist to script a story about a beloved costumed super-doer…But enough with the excuses. Take it away, Bob.

Due to the overwhelming number of commissions that arrived in March, that volume of work, combined with tax time, the COLONY web comic and other pressing personal matters, is going to affect my usual two-to-three week turn-around for pages. I ask for is your patience while I keep 'my nose to the grindstone' and continue to produce the caliber of original art that you've come to expect from me. By the way--it's frickin' great to be this busy!! I owe it all to you! Thanks, Bob Layton
