THE 3-BY-3 RULE This month, I'm presenting the first of my "Rules-of-Thumb" art lessons on video. Over the years, I've used many of these simple rules to teach my art assistants how to prioritize their thoughts when approaching a drawing. As with any rules, they are made to be broken by the seasoned professional. However, I've found that minimizing the mental tasks of composition into simple diagrammatic equations can be extremely helpful to the novice storyteller. Enjoy...and learn!
