DC Comics/Vertigo editor and long-time friend Bob Schreck has been working as a consultant with Executive Producer Mike Ruggiero on a documentary for the Starz TV channel about Hollywood and its current fascination for comic book properties. Bob was kind enough to ask me to participate in the project while I was visiting NYC for the Big Apple Con.

Mike, like Bob, is an old friend of mine from the Creation Convention days, back when he and Schreck were administrators at those shows in the 80’s.

We were excited to reunite after all these years and I was proud to see that both Bob and Mike had done so well since those ‘salad days’.

On Saturday, they ushered me across the street to a private location to conduct the on-camera session—in a magic shop, of all things!

My interview was sandwiched between the likes of comic legends Carmine Infantino and Jim Steranko—talk about being intimidated…sheesh!

But after forty minutes of filming, Mike and Bob were generous with their praise, stating that I was totally on-target and in tune with what's happening in today's pop scene and film industry.

But, we’ll let you readers judge that for yourselves when Mike Ruggiero’s documentary airs on the STARZ TV CHANNEL in May.
