FEBRUARY IRON MAN CONCEPT

Occasionally, I have an idea that doesn't quite come off the way I envisioned it in my mind's eye. Such is the case with this design for Sunturion. I discovered that Celtic sun symbol on his chest while surfing the web and tried to find a way to incorporate it into his costume. Unfortunately, it looks more like the pilot's wheel of a sailing ship. But, since this page is about concepts, I thought I might as well share the good with the not-so-good.
BOB
SUNTURION:
Arthur
Dearborn was a brilliant energy scientist. Knowing that the supply of
fossil fuels was dwindling, and believing that a future worldwide war
would be fought over fuel, he came up with a plan to harness the sun's
radiation. Dearborn's
creation was the Star Well--a massive orbiting platform that would
absorb sunlight and send converted energy back to Earth. In the course of
designing the station, he conducted experiments on himself. His body was
bombarded by microwave radiation. Unable
to live on Earth, he administered the mostly automated space station. As
the guardian of the outpost, his job was to protect it against all
threats. Tony Stark/Iron Man was investigating the death of an entire town
by microwave radiation. The too briefly clashed, but then had to work
together when the Star Well lost hold of its orbit and fell towards Earth.
To stop the Star Well from crashing into a populated area, Sunturion
channeled himself through Iron Man's armor, learning that it was Stark
wearing the armor in the process. With their combined powers they were
able to disintegrate the falling station, but Sunturion appeared to die. Sunturion
was not dead though; his form instead diffused and Dearborn was transmuted
into pure microwave energy. Much like what happened to the Living Laser he
existed without a coherent, physical form, spread over the Gulf of Mexico
where the Star Well splashed down. Roxxon developed technology to
reintegrate him. He was reassembled to take out Stratosfire, who was
empowered in a similar manner. Sunturion had increased power due to his reformation. He could now teleport hundreds of miles in just seconds. He could also enter computers by touch and use the Internet to gather information. lastly, he had learned Iron Man's identity after being channeled through the armor. He was also stronger than Stratosfire and able to drain her energy. But in order to stop her, he had to her "Zed Control." The procedure seemed to use up his power and revert Sunturion to normal. He went back to work for Roxxon as a researcher.
