Last Month, I attended the Dallas Comic Con, held on January 12-13 at the Richardson Civic Center. There was an excellent turn-out for my panel, which was entitled "Iron Man: Then and Now", although that title confused me a bit. I did Iron Man 'then'... AND I'm doing it...'now'--so I wasn't sure what that theme meant. However, as I arrived for the panel discussion, I was met by 'Iron Man: Hypervelocity' artist Brian Denham who was slated to appear on the stage with me. Brian joining me on this panel explained the title a bit more to my satisfaction. He was the "now" guest. (but-- I'm doing Iron Man 'now', too! I'm still so confused!!) Brian is a terrific fellow and a gifted artist, so the honor of sharing the spotlight with him was all mine. On a humorous note, the panel moderator for the event failed to show up, so Brian and I picked a fan out of the audience to act as our host. The results are amusing, as you will see on the video. Everyone attending seemed very excited about the two, new Iron Man projects that David Michelinie and I are currently working on for Marvel and I wasted no time shoving a plug into the conversation wherever I could. The hour went by very quickly, thanks to the enthusiastic Dallas audience and I got an opportunity to do one of the things I love the best about my job--pontificating about my favorite Armored Avenger-- Iron Man! One small note: You'll have to forgive the shaky camera work , but my trusted assistant didn't have a tripod and the recording occasionally turns a little "Blair Witch-like" from time-to-time. Also, because of time constraints, the video has been edited down from its original hour length to two 10 minute segments. Part 2 will be published next month! Now--on with the show!
