THE CRALL

Known as "The Fifth Race", the Crall remains a mystery to almost everyone in the galactic Confederacy.

Nomadic spacefarers, the Crall are…basically… hard to find.

An undisclosed cataclysmic event, that destroyed their Homeworld, sent the Crall into space in powerful generation ships. They move unseen from planetary system to planetary system—stopping only to re-supply their convoy on a trek to nowhere.

The Crall avoid contact with other races.  Everything in the Cralls’ existence is geared towards survival.

Occasionally, a Crall will fall into Con-Fed hands—usually it is a scout or forward observer from the Crallian fleet who makes a fatal miscalculation. Those unfortunate prisoners usually kill themselves within months of capture. The Crallian lust for freedom is a tangible, dominating drive in the species.

To the present day, the Con-Feds avoid direct confrontation with the Crall—a cautionary approach fueled by rumors of advanced weapons of horrible destructive power.

Notably, Crallians have jet black skin—looking almost like polished marble. Combined with their tentacle-like hair that acts like feelers and fiery eyes, they are imposing to behold and terribly-fierce warriors who show little mercy to those not of their race. The Crall can also double their body mass by consuming a large quantity of food and rapidly converting it into energy—making them formidable and deadly opponents.

In the story of Colony, the Crall known as Faz is the only one of his kind to be held alive. But unbeknownst to his captors, Faz has been sent as an observer—to examine the absolute worst of human nature and to, eventually, pass judgment on our race.  What better place to see what humans are really like than in the hellhole environment of the prison planet.
