ABOUT THE SERIES:
Jacob
Nakai is a Native American, raised by his shaman
grandfather, who rises to prominence as a master stage
magician. What sets him apart from the David Copperfields of the
world is the fact that he utilizes genuine magics in his
performances. Eventually,
Nakai crosses paths with Adonis DuLac, the head of the Las Vegas
Mafia, who is attempting to strong arm him into a management deal. After
refusing the mob's final offer, DuLac’s hoods sabotage one of Nakai’s
stage props, which results in his being horribly disfigured. Nakai
is befriended by a mysterious, native American entity known only as
Mwerta, who becomes his man-servant and confidante.
Falling back to the ancient heritage of his people and garbed
in black leather with a golden mask that hides his shattered face,
Deathmask begins a terrible vengeance trail against the powerful men
responsible for his pain. It is a daunting task--a lone,
mystic warrior against the most powerful and wealthy crime boss
in the country. Deathmask is not, by any means, a hero. Rather, he's the wrong man to be pushed beyond the edge of sanity. THE STORY SO FAR:
Deathmask's
violent vengeance comes back to
haunt him—literally! What
stalks the When
DuLac's criminal scientist infuses three of the crime lord's lackeys with
necromantic energy stolen from Deathmask, they become
nearly-indestructible and hell-bent on killing the Mystic Marauder.
Trapped in the southwestern desert and weak from the intense battle,
Deathmask hovers on the brink of certain doom-- |
