ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM BOB: OCTOBER 2007

BOBLAYTON.COM BREAKS THE HALF-A-MILLION MARK! We were startled to discover, when exploring our hosting information, our website hit the 500,000 mark in terms of hits in September! Part of that, I think, is attributable to my interview with Hollywood proto-mogul Michael Benson and the new video features. Needless to say, the fact that so many people are clicking onto the site every month is enormously flattering and a bit daunting! I don't know where our numbers make us stand, in terms of other comic websites, but it has to be fairly high! Granted, some of those are repeat visitors, but the core audience who visit this site is growing by leaps and bounds! The staff and I strive hard every month to make this site one of the most entertaining places for fans of Iron Man and comic art in general. In the months to come, we plan to bring further innovations and features to the site. If you have suggestions on how we can improve, innovate, or renovate, send your comments to: laytonwebmaster@hotmail.com (ask for the Fabulous Sorah Suhng). Thank you to everyone for making this website a popular stop when surfing the web!

MARVEL'S TEE-SHIRT TRIBUTE Here's an interesting tidbit that our own Mike Kalibabky brought to my attention. The cover image for the upcoming IRON MAN #24 sports a character wearing a tee-shirt with this lettering: ROMITA, LAYTON.
Somebody at Marvel must dig the IRON MAN classics. No matter what the reason, I was flattered and I took up Mike's suggestion to share it with my readers.
Below is the solicitation information on that upcoming issue from Marvel Comics:

A NOTE TO THOSE WANTING TO GET ONTO BOB'S COMMISSION LIST My work schedule has become fairly complicated, with two Iron Man projects for Marvel, my regular web-comic series Colony, my dealings in Hollywood and a very, very long commissions list. (Currently at about 30 clients) Also, caring for my dog Bosco since his surgery has been very draining. Bosco is recovering okay--but I have to keep him off the leg for six weeks and that can be a daunting task with an energetic 90 lb. Labrador who loves to play ball. As much as I enjoy doing commissions for my fans, circumstances have dictated that I put a hold on accepting new commissions until after the new year. I owe it to those who are patiently waiting for their pre-paid drawing to devote any free time that I have to getting their names off that commissions list. However, I won't close the door entirely. if you have something that can be done very quickly...or if you don't mind a three-to-four month waiting time, I'll be happy to entertain the assignment. But otherwise, I'll have to decline accepting new commissions until January 1st, 2008. To those of you who are waiting for their commission, I ask for your patience as I attempt to manage this 'creative juggling act'.
Sincerely,
