Hi Bob,
Not too long ago I purchased the entire Future line from you and I wanted to thank you for some great stories and concepts. Future totally had the feel of your Valiant days but with fresh and different characters. Your work has been a great inspiration for me. I know that your general design philosophy is that the more modern something is then the more streamlined it should be (thus your discomfort with the Silver Centurion design).
Along these lines it would seem somewhat logical that in the not-to-distant future that Tony Stark would stop even using an "armor" and would start aligning his own DNA with armor tech (especially in light of the recent Extremis storyline). Could you take a stab at a "Neuro-Interface Armor" design for an upcoming Iron Man Concepts section on your website? I imagine this would be even more streamlined than the Nano Armor.
If you think this is a stupid concept I completely understand, but if not I'd love to see your take on it.
Thanks,
Steve Broadwater

Steve,
I actually love the idea of a complete, neuro-interface armor. I'll have to ask my resident science advisor, Robert Smithers, (whose latest missive is next in line on this letters page) about the technical plausibility of the concept and how I could relate the science to the design. If we can come up with a working concept for the armor, I'll use it in one of the upcoming Iron Concepts.
There are no stupid ideas in science, Steve...just bad execution. Er...I take that back--there was that formula for New Coke!!
