Hello once again from your unofficial science advisor. I hope the last answer on planet weather conditions was acceptable. I know you are busy. You know I don't contact you often, but I think this is a subject that you and Dave Michelinie were always interested. Researchers at the University of California, Berkley have developed a three-dimensional material with a negative index of refraction.
In simple terms, it will "appear" to bend the light around an object by absorbing the light, transferring it through the material, and emitting it on the other side.

It is still in very small material samples in a research labatory, but it is a fascinating proof of theory that it is possible The material brings to mind the Iron Man villain character here.

Have a great day and God bless.

Robert,
That's just great! David Michelinie and I took several issues to explain away Iron Man's cloaking ability during our second run of the book--and your colleagues have just made the whole thing totally plausible!! Curses! Actually, I saw something on the research on CNN several weeks ago. Granted, it was just a fluff piece and they were equating it to Harry Potter's Cloak of Invisibility, but I understand the basic concept.
Hey, while I'm writing you this reply, did you read the letter that came before yours? How about giving me a hand in coming up with a workable neuro-interfacing armor that cam meld with the user's anatomy? Pretty please?
