Mr. Layton,
Your new site looks awesome! It was definitely worth the wait! I have some more Future Comics questions for you. I hope you don’t mind talking about a 3 year period in your life when you have done some many other good things like Iron Man and Valiant to name a few. I have emailed you a couple times and you have been gracious enough to respond. You also sent me a package with ashcans, a t-shirt, a page from Freemind #0 and a poster. I also emailed with a lot of other FC questions you answered on your website letters page (Poster art, video games etc…). I am shipping out the last of my 45 long boxes of comics this week. It took about a year, but they will all be gone. I one left to sell. I still have my one short box with just my Future Comics that will not be going anywhere.
Again, not to bother you because I known you are a busy man, but if you have a chance, here are some more question some photos I saw over at the Valiant fans sight, I saw a picture of you and Bob hall (I think) signing some issues for a special give away.
1. In your office I saw a poster from Freemind (Maybe a Freemind #0 Promo) that I haven’t seen before. Do you have anymore of the posters available?
2. When digging through your archives, I saw that you had sent out
Christmas cards with FC Heroes on them, do you still have any of those?
3. Will the unpublished comics in the archives be available for a while? I haven’t read all of them yet, and didn’t want to lose them Have you ever thought about combing all the unpublished covers and issues and
sketches in to an available downloadable PDF file? I know some artist do this with their sketchbooks. I would gladly pay $10 or more for such a file or CD.
4. I emailed Ron Lim about Metallix original art form his website, but have heard no response. Does he have a new site, or is it just the ronlimart site?
5. I am still working on a Future Comics website, I switched schools, so it’s taking me a little longer to do than hoped, but soon as it is up, I will send you a link.
6. I have scoured the country and the web, but still no Luck on the
Metallix 7 ashcan. I will keep looking
7. Do you still have those binders from Ultra Pro, I have not been able to find one (or two) yet.
Again, thank you for your time. I know you are busy with your Marvel commitments. Again, I would be more than happy to purchase anything and pay for shipping for anything Future Comics related. Future Comics just really struck something with me and I really appreciate the time yourself and Mr Giordano and Mr. Michelinie spent on those issues. When you see or talk to them, please let them know also. Again I hope to have a website up soon to archive all the issues and characters and miscellaneous items. Thanks again for your time!

Dear Jamie,
I’ll answer your questions in the order you asked them, okay?
1. What you saw was a framed blow-up that used to hang in the Future Comics offices. I saved a bunch of them and I have a few of them on the walls in my current art studio.
2. No—I don’t have any of the actual Future Christmas cards left, but I do have the original file that they were printed from and I still have the line art that I did for it.
3. The issues of Freemind, Metallix Peacekeeper and Deathmask are still available to view in my archives and these no plans to pull them in the foreseeable future. I WANT people to read and enjoy them, that why I made them accessible here on my website. If you go thru the archives, you’ll find a host of unpublished materials and covers from the Future days. As soon as I have the time, I’ll see what I can do about coming up with a feature that contains a ton of unpublished sketches, costume designs, model sheets and the like.
4. Ron Lim has a website. You can find the icon for it on my links page. Other than that site, I’m not aware of any other venue. However, you can find lots of rmy buddy Ron’s fantastic art for sale and available at The ArtistChoice, com website, run by my art agent and friend Spencer Beck.
5. That will be FANTASTIC to have a Future Comics website—run by it’s #1 fan. Let me know when it’s up and running and I’ll dump a ton of special material in your lap to publish!
6. I have the files, but there are no more printed versions of the Metallix #7 ashcan. I could always send you the disc and you could make your own, if you wish.
7. I do have some of those UltraPro binders. I’ll do my best to get a couple of them to you as soon as I can, Jamie.
Thanks again for being our #1 Future Comics supporter!!
Bob
