KING-SIZE CONAN VARIANT RECREATION

I've been on a Conan kick for the last month. This piece is something I've been doing a little bit at a time each day over the last few weeks.

STILL AVAILABLE--$400.00

mandarin's wall of iron

This was requested by CAF member Chris Caira. Based on a Joker commission page by the fantastic Brian Bolland, I was asked to replace the Joker with the Mandarin and the Batman Family's heads with various Iron Man helmets. It was a genuine honor to follow the lead of someone as talented as Mr. Bolland. Thanks goes out to the fantastic coloring talents of Ian Sokoliwski.

MARVEL SUPER-VILLAIN TEAM-UP #12 VARIANT RECREATION

This was a fun Marvel cover that was originally done by Byrne and Austin.

Fantastic Four #59 Variant Recreation

Here's a cover recreation based on another of Jack Kirby's classic work. In this piece, I was asked to replace the Black Bolt with Spider-Man. Subsequently, I had to alter the cover copy to reflect that alteration.

Colors by Ian Sokoliwski.

CONAN #25  RECREATION

Most everyone knows I'm a real Gil Kane freak--so when a had a moment to spare, I decided to recreate one of his rare Conan covers, just for fun. And, as I said earlier, I've been on a Conan kick since that Red Sonja cover.

SILVER SURFER

This drawing was done for Russell Sheath, a terrific fan from England. By request, I bled the art off the right side of the drawing--so it could be connected to another piece of art in the future to form a double-page spread.

PHOENIX & NIGHTCRAWLER

This piece was as a 'thank you' to CAF website guru Bill Cox, who requested that I simply come up with something that featured a main character or two  from the classic X-Men comics of the 80's.

SILVER CENTURION RETOUCH

This single figure illo was something  I did for Iron Man fan Jeff Harnett back in 1987.  Jeff recently approached me about adding backgrounds to the page.  I chose to feature the lab that first appeared on the splash of  I.M. #117.

X-O MANOWAR SINGLE FIGURE

This drawing was done as part of a huge jamboard that will be composed in the near future--featuring all of the major Valiant characters.  I had my pick of the lot on which of the heroes to draw and, of course, settled on doing my boy Aric.

IRON MAN SINGLE FIGURE

This drawing was a lot of fun to do.  It was commissioned by Mike Cross to be simply a head-and-shoulder shot.  I guess I got a little carried away with it, but I like the final product.
