AVENGERS #4 VARIANT RECREATION

This page was created for CAF member Malcolm Bourne and features the Scarlet Witch as the central figure of the piece, along with the line-up of Avengers after the first major shake-up of the team back in issue #16.

JACK KIRBY CONAN ANNUAL #5 INKS

This page has been a pet project of mine--where I inked on it a little each day in-between commissions. To my knowledge, it's the only Conan cover by Kirby and I've been dying to ink it using my organic BWS technique. I also dig it because it has Michael Moorcock's Elric--something I read rabidly as a kid.

THE PHANTOM & THE SHADOW

This piece was commissioned by Brian Carney and gave me a rare opportunity to draw two characters that I haven't had much experience with in my career. Why no one ever thought of this team-up before stuns me.  It's a natural.

HOURMAN & DR. FATE VS. SOLOMON GRUNDY

This pin-up page was done for Arthur Chertowsky, who is a huge fan of the JSA. This was a nice change-of-pace assignment and harkened me back to my days of inking All-Star Comics--many moons ago.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN/SUPERMAN #1 HOMAGE'

This tribute piece was done for Ian Trott of CA. This was a great deal of fun to work on, since I've never tackled Capt. Britain.

STERANKO X-MEN #49 RECREATION

This cover was commissioned by Rick Shiu, who shares my admiration for the work of the great Jim Steranko.

BILL EVERETT SUB-MARINER RECREATION

This concept, commissioned by Mark Levy, is based on Sub-Mariner # 57 (Mark owns the original cover).
In this version, the villain was replaced by the classic Iron Man.

X-O MANOWAR SINGLE FIGURE

This page was commissioned by Dr. Brian Gleberzon of Toronto. It's always fun to revisit the Valiant characters and X-O is one that is especially near to my heart.

 DR. STRANGE SINGLE FIGURE

This single figure drawing of the Master of the Mystic Arts was done for Sean Wasielewski.  As I told Sean, I love doing illos of characters I that don't get an opportunity to do that often.  The good doctor is one of them, for sure.

F.F. #44 VARIANT PENCILS

Michael Greczek asked me to rework the cover layout to FF # 44 with the idea of allowing him to ink the final product. Normally, this isn’t something I care to do (I  always prefer to ink my own pencils), but he was so enthusiastic about the idea, I couldn’t refuse him.
